    • DIAMETER

    The diameter of the Pearl of Tahiti varies from 7 to 16 millimetres. The most common are  between 8 and 10, beyond 16 mm, represent products of a rare exeption.

    • SHAPE

    There are 4 main forms of her Pearls of Tahiti which nevertheless can be modified.

    1)  ROUND AND SEMI-ROUND

    The round pearls are almost perfect spheres which are less than 2% variations of diameter. The rarest pearls of  Tahiti and the most sought-after are the Round pearls.The semi-round pearls are lightly imperfect spheres the variations of diameter of which are understood between 2 % and 5 %.

    2) BAROC -SEMI

    The semi-baroque pearls give an axis of rotation at the very least and are divided in 4 subcategories: drop, button, pear and oval 

    3) CIRCLE

    The strapped pearls are characterized by striations, of rings or of the regular, perpendicular slits in the axis of rotation, which cover more than a third of the surface of the pearl.

    4) BAROC

    The baroque pearls introduce no axle of symmetry 

     
      
     
    • COLOUR
     
             
    The Pearls of Tahiti gives an infinite variety of colours from  very clear grey up to the deep blue, without forgetting the green lagoon or the purple red called also eggplant. You will find obviously the one who will fit you. A multitude of colours presents itself to you and every image, every nuance gives an unique character in the Pearl which you will choose.   
     
     
    • QUALITY

    1) THICKNESS of mother-of-pearl to be commercialized on the worldwide market, the pearls of Tahiti have to have a thickness of sufficient mother-of-pearl, guaranteeing a certain quality in every pearl. This coat must attain 0,8 mm, who will be able to be acquired only when the pearl will have stayed at least 18 months in Polynesian waters. Frequent controls are made by authorities in partnership with the pearl farms. 

    2) LUSTER

    The pearl does two things  ; Absorbe the light and Reflect the light. Thanks to the quality of its luster and the brilliance of its images, the pearl of Tahiti remains a special jewel The mirror effect is the Luster ; when the light go into the lyers it’s call ORION . 

    3) The producers of Pearls of Tahiti use 4 letters of A in D to classify the quality of the Pearl.   

    Quality A

    Of the upper quality the entirely smooth surface of which introduces only some imperfections (on-10 % of the surface) which will be hidden by fixing in most cases. Have a very nice chandelier. Very rare.  

    Quality B

     The defects are divided between 10 and 30 % of the surface of the pearl. Have a medium or nice chandelier  

    Quality C

    The  imperfections are located on less than 2/3 of the surface. Have a medium chandelier.  

    Quality D

    The defects are visible more than two thirds of the surface .
